As someone who's been sober in AA for 30 years, that certainly sounds like a dry drunk. Very dry. Western forest in August dry. All it takes is a little spark to burn it all down.

I had the first good laugh for quite awhile on Substack, noting the expressions on the faces of the gathered generals and admirals during Hegseth’s rant at Quantico. HIS PERFORMANCE WAS IMPOSSIBLY TONE DEAF AND TERMINALLY STUPID.
One should be relieved that COS Wiles, Sec'y of State Rubio and V.P. Vance are coordinating on defense strategy while leaving photo opportunities and pushup exhibitions to the "Hegsethinator". Having read Elbridge Colby's Book Strategy of Denial, I find it highly unlikely that the NDS would advocate a US strategic retreat to the western hemisphere while conceding the Asian maritime states to China, as recently reported.
If there's a ray of light in this story, I suppose it's that the CJCOS seems more alert to the brewing catastrophe than I expected, given that I've read that Caine is an intense Trump loyalist.
