The only bright spot in this story is that things would probably be a lot worse if Trump and his wannabe dictators crew were competent. Incompetence is greatly preferable to malignity and can reduce the latter's harm.
Remember back in middle school, there was a clique of arrogant, stupid kids who had too many hormones and too few comptent adults helping them deal with the challenges of adolescence? They bullied other kids, tortured the janitors and subs, were roundly disliked and feared, and teachers passed them to get them out? Now they're our Cabinet.
