I think Threads posts are officially "threads". I personally prefer "threats", pronounced "threets". :p (But more realistically I do think I prefer "threets" to "threads", which is confusing.)
I don't see tweets without an account (I cancelled my Twitter account last December). They haven't backtracked from preventing viewing without any account, at least as far as I'm concerned.
I abandoned Twitter when Musk took over because of what I expected. Finally got something right. I'm interested in trying Blue Sky but I guess you need an invite....
