The insightful aspect to wedge issues like wokeness is they're *by design* to be frivolous to both elite and pleb interests. Meaning they don't threaten $$, ie. the rich could literally care less about LGBT, unlike labor organizing etc. Plus because they matter so little to normal people, party loyalists can align on either side with minimal disruption to their own lives, eg. Drezner could literally be anti-trans tomorrow just as easily as anti-whatever-sports-team.
Where is FIRE in all of this? Where are the defenders of academic freedom and open inquiry?
They've been in the news a lot but I'm not sure it helps. They wrote Texas A&M a scathing letter.
