It is the control over Data flows, digital infrastructure and critical supply chains as well as the monopoly over technical knowledge that makes of this a technopolar moment. Technopolarity does not necessarily mean the complete erosion of the state. It means a recalibration of power, where the state is no longer the sole actor capable of shaping the international order. Technopolarity as Bremmer puts it forward is very light IR, but gives a title at least to an evolution of phenomena already touched on By Susan Strange and others. There is wether we like to admit it or not a major difference in what big corporations are capable of today than even Oil companies. It is not as simple as Musk mismanaging twitter and Zuck possibly not being human.

Bremmer is good to follow if you ever need to get a sense for what 'The Blob' thinks about IR on any given day, or, if you ever need to give a 16-year-old an exercise in critical thinking.
