And they treat their employees well and pay living wages!

Daniel Drezner: After the man told you and your loved-girlfriend (later wife), you can never have enough ketchup -- your children -- an investment in the future through Costco," I LOVED the footnote:

"Ironically, neither of our kids really likes ketchup."

I effin’ love Costco! They are also really good to their employees - one of my sisters worked there for many years. Since retiring to an area where the nearest one is over an hour away, I’ve made heavy use of their online app with two day delivery for orders over $75! Who has ever spent less than that on a Costco shopping trip? And I team up with friends on orders. Long live Costco!

Me....was at a workshop one day and we got dismissed for lunch....all I had was two bucks. Where could I go for lunch? Costco down the road....hot dog and a pepsi. We jokingly referred to lunch at Costco as " lunch at a private club" from Clark Howard, the notoriously cheap financial guru ( not a fan by the way ) who would offer to take guests to lunch at a private club....Costco. But they took the pulled pork off the menu years ago, and the new roast beef sandwich sucks. I complained, no problem. Issued me a refund.

Today we went to Costco for the first time, got a membership card, spent hours and then spent hundreds of $$. But it’s great and we’ll be back.

While I love Costco, their service partners are expensive for what you get (e.g., home solar panels, air conditioning). You’re almost always better off shopping around for those.

The shed was ok; decent price plus installation. It's not quite up to the Amish quality though.

Thank you for this choice phrase: "competency in the face of disruption"

Democrats don't like Costco? They don't like Walmart either. Something about those messy low-income people. They hate them, while crowing about being on their side. What hypocrisy.

Sir, this is a Wendy’s.

That's funny, Democrats have done more for those low income people than anyone in, well, history. And it's not even close. They can complain about both stores all they want; they have earned the right. The former president of Costco, by the way, was offered a deal by Sam's to work together. He went to his old boss at Price Club and said, screw Sam Walton, we could do better ourselves. The rest is history while Sam's just copies, poorly, Costco's model. Thank God for Elizabeth Warren. What a different world we could have if this country could have seen their way to make this brilliant woman president. But not even a highly accomplished woman like HRC could run without the FBI putting a last minute finger on the scale for the orange jesus.....and now Mexico joins the list of countries, growing all the time, who have elected a woman to the top post before the "enlightened " USA.....which seems bent on telling women what to do with their bodies. Or at least one of the major political parties, enamored with Medieval religious thinking, does.....

"Democrats have done more for those low income people" This is the Dem talking point. But is it true? Nah, just like the rest of your comment, us good them bad, it's just party blather to make you feel good.
