Australia has the opportunity to walk a middle path in the 21st century, and there are many domestic advocates for us being much more non-aligned than we are. However, the CIA has cultivated our politicians to a remarkable degree, and our defence and security elites have been completely suborned by the US military - industrial complex, so we are all the way with DJT from here to eternity. Did you know we've already given you billions of dollars, no strings attached, to prop up your sickly ship-building industry. With some vague hope that one day after we've given you many many billions more, we'll get some nuclear attack subs? Good times!

Are there any polls in Australia on the AUKUS project? I'd sure like to know the general pulse there. We in Canada are about to order some subs and maybe we should work together on this. Funny thing about middle powers that way these days. With the US reducing its NATO commitment and concentrating on the Indo-Pacific, Australia, Japan and South Korea have to worry about both the US and China being worst best buddies. It is beginning to be a better deal for Canada to raise the number of subs that we buy and split the fleet to be compatible with other middle powers sub programs: one in the Indo-Pacific and one in the Atlantic. The Arctic would be split as required. Anyway, would like to see Canada and Australia work together much more closely.

Public opinion is difficult to gauge, as we have the most concentrated, (pro-Zionist) corporate media in the world. But there's a public inquiry just formed, supported by several ALP ex-ministers, and the former PM, and I think there's movement against it before it's too late. The worst short term aspect is the new mega sub base, built for USN nuclear subs, costing the Australian taxpayer tens of billions while reducing our national security and tying us to a falling empire.

I believe what you are describing is bipolar DISorder, given our CINC.

Thanks for linking Dan, I'm a long time fan, and it's an honor to show up here. Especially concerning something that aggravates me so much. (Dan Kobayashi aka Jose Melendez
