When I was an SFS undergrad, our classmates from "the College" (i.e. the College of Arts and Sciences) claimed that SFS stood for "So Fucking Superior," a comment on our perceived arrogance. I'm not sure what the nickname will be if we become ASGA.
I always thought Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) should change its name to the Eisenhower School, but the faculty would probably claim that D-Day and the interstate highway system were problematic.
Well I didn't know the 500 000 dead Iraqui children was...equine excrement. It deserves a place in the study of how lies can sometimes become accepted wisdom. Nice one Prof!
When “US Bad” is at the core of someone’s approach to viewing the world, bizarre statements emerge. I’m not at all surprised that academics pick up authoritarian propaganda and run with it. There are enough ‘luminaries’ who make political indoctrination using their own propaganda spins a goal.
