Thanks Daniel this is an informative synopsis of congressional wrangling.

At every turn, Johnson picks the swamp turn to drive down. The merits for more Ukraine aid is legitimate, at the very least support is required so as to bring an end game at some point. To just bring up $95 billion in supplemental spending at large, with no other cuts is wrong. Furthermore, Johnson has sold out conservatives in joining the Dem parade of spending with no cuts or revisions. No effort to return to pre Covid spending, no post Covid cuts, no across the board cuts, 1 % across the board? The Dems refuse to cut any spending, not one penny. Johnson is a total sell out to the Dem establishment.

Why are you blaming Johnson when whenever the GOP controls everything, they blow holes in the budget?

The GOP has never been the balanced budget party. At least it hasn't been for decades now. How deluded do you have to be to think the GOP would ever cut spending?

Expand full comment

You fool, they balanced it congressionally 3 years in row. Mid 90’s. Get a life.

Expand full comment

You’re thinking of Bill Clinton.

Expand full comment

LMA0, Google Newt Gingrich and the Repub. Revolution” as balanced budget was in the contract for “America” Slick Willie just jumped on the train!

Expand full comment

You’re hilarious. 😂

Bye now.

Expand full comment

Yes, Cause the truth busts zombie Dem.balls.

Expand full comment

It was a Republican majority, House and Senate. They dragged slick Willie screaming and kicking to do so. He vetoed welfare reform 3x before he signed it. You are overmatched. Just be quiet.

Expand full comment

And yet the GOP didn't when it controlled both houses of Congress and the Presidency. Explain that away, dummy.

One has to wonder how much dirt on his kids the intel agencies showed Johnson in the SCIF.

Yes jumbo, I am the thunder and lightning.

Biden has added up to $8 trillion in new debt. Horrendous, on top of the Dems not reducing a penny in new spending.

Expand full comment

Speaker Johnson showed some mettle today, going to Columbia and standing down Soros backed Hamas, Marxist terrorist sympathizers! Very good! Busted Schumer’s chops.

Expand full comment

Still waiting for the Dems to support a 1% reduction in federal spending. Which was rejected in past years budget approval. What a joke, the Dem zombie party.

Expand full comment

Just to be clear, a Democrat Speaker would never be supported to support a GOP POTUS on a topic such as this, or like the border, illegal immigration. Look at the Marxist, socialist Soros sponsored fanatics now in the streets. The public lauding of Johnson is the greatest example of the liberal corp media echo machine. Just a bunch of hypocrites.

Chuck Schumer is the worst and most negative force in American politics. He has corrupted the Senate, he alone polluted the Senate judicial process and created hatred amongst the nomination process. Only Ted Kennedy and Joe Biden were worse. His refusal to allow” amendments on Senate floor is another example. Schumer plays politics on every issue. His denunciation of Israel’s PM is only based upon Dem party American politics. He is a disgrace.

Pelosi now calls for PM Benjie Yahoo to resign. Like Schumer it’s always domestic politics with Dems. Shameful!

Just a bunch of Dem party zombies here.

Just curious Daniel. I am not issuing you a challenge, but as a test of your confidence in your prediction, if I were to offer you a bet, one draft or bottled beer, or $100.00, if I took the opposite position and said Johnson would lose his Speakership over this, what odds would you give/risk my position against yours? 2-to-1 (lose-doesn't lose), 3-to-1 (lose-doesn't lose). Again, not real gambling, purely hypothetical and in good fun.

Expand full comment

In my view it should.

Expand full comment

Forget should for a minute.

Predictions on if it *will*?

Expand full comment

What ??

Expand full comment

Sorry for the rushed imprecision of the words - probably could have been clearer if I used quotation, or other marks: Forget "should" for a minute.

I will elaborate what I was trying to say for completeness:

You've made clear you believe Mike Johnson should lose his Speakership because of his approval of the foreign military aid funding.

Do you think the majority caucus in the House will oust him from his Speakership?

Pretty straightforward question. Daniel D. put his prediction on the table, how about you?

I think for the horrible psssed budget and the now reported FISA expansion, yes. He’s atrocious.

Expand full comment

Actually, I said that I support providing continued aid. It’s the fact he passed it, with no off sets is one thing, along with not digging in and gaining other areas in the previous passed budget. Don’t worry the Senate passed the additional $95 billion this evening, are debt service is the highest budget item now, now more than Defense. Btw, not one zombie Dem voted against because of debt at last review. The Dem party is a joke. Just prostitutes on a spending spree.

“Then, when the Senate hammered out such a compromise, Donald Trump tweeted negative thoughts and that was that.” Except the Senate bill did nothing but accelerate moving illegals into the USA and nothing to keep them out. Enforce the borders with the same zeal that I face every time I have to present my US passport at customs when I return home from Europe.

Expand full comment

Not true. Republicans could've gotten a lot of their border wish list accomplished in the senate border bill that no Democrat would ever support except in desperation to get aid to Ukraine. The only reason the senate bill didn't pass was because trump wants to keep up the vitriol about the border, so he can campaign on it. Here's what the senate's border bill included: "Among other provisions, this bill would end President Biden’s parole program, dramatically reduce the grounds for claiming asylum, reinstate the Trump-era “Remain in Mexico” policy, and force Biden to resume building President Trump’s border wall."

https://www.brookings.edu/articles/the-collapse-of-bipartisan-immigration-reform-a-guide-for-the-perplexed/

So you can thank trump for Republicans getting NOTHING done on their southern border priorities(?) while the rest of the senate bill for foreign aid passed anyway. What a way to wait around for six months to be humiliated and get zip.

Hey KL, LMAO. Sen sponsor Murphy said it was a Dem bill. It was a spending bill, which allowed Dems to allow millions more. Your talking points straight from Schemer's Senate podium. Spare us.

Expand full comment

Guess it was silly of me to think that you would read the article to educate yourself.

It was a bipartisan bill to actually do something about the border. Republicans concern about the border is just performative bs to keep the rubes riled up.

Expand full comment

It ain’t bi partisan when over 40 GOP senators say no.

Expand full comment

I didn’t say it was unanimous.

Lmao, u said it was bibpartisan. Yeah classic, 50 Dems and 10 or less GOPers. Just don’t say anything.

Biden should be impeached now for what he’s done, with border, and college tuitions erasure. He won’t honor anything he signs.

😂

That was for border bill. Which was a supplemental to spend, not

Stop illegals. You are wrong. How do you think it feels to go through travel at airport, while millions are just let in.

Expand full comment

KL, I made a horrible mistake. The sentence right before the one I cut a pasted said,” He initially insisted that an aid bill be linked with increased spending for border security.” The Langford smoke and mirrors did NOTHING to increase spending for border security. Were we even reading the same article. Tom seems to be following just fine.

Expand full comment

It was a spending bill period, adding new to everything with no meaningful reforms. It allowed move illegals in. Langford was a shill for McConnell, helping Biden. Biden and Schumer are in their own stew of making. 11 million illegal's period. Schumer is the most divisive and rotten elected official in the country. You are clueless.
