I will put "The Ordinal Society" in Amazon shopping cart...now

I read that Semafor article and I cannot say that I spotted all of the lulus but I finally got caught up on the Drake-Kendrick feud at around 2 am today (it took place during sefirat haomer in real time). The idea that Drake is suing Spotify for artificially bringing up the numbers for "Not Like Us" can be extrapolated to some of these media outlets (Drake got absolutely outclassed in this whole thing but some of the zingers were quite good by his standards. In my defense for having listened to this at all you have no idea how much these rappers actually believe the gossip they are saying). Everything was for the 24/7 news environment and these outlets thought they were staying afloat on the algorithms as they understood them but a) these algorithms are controlled by individual human beings like Elon Musk and b) people who absorb news as a side dish to whatever else is going on with their day can actually make some significant choices for the rest of us especially if they think that politics represents a world of equally bad choices. The email of the top 10 most read from New York Magazine's "One Great Story" also came today and despite their good reporting not one was a conventionally political story. Almost all of them represented the opportunity to gawk at someone whose life is far more of a train wreck than the reader's.

Isn't economics all political? In other words, it was easy to find where many of these authors stand politically.
